FINE ART
COMMERCIAL AND DOCUMENTARY
Hailing from Oklahoma, Rhett Henry Baxter has spent the last decade of his life dedicating himself to the romanticism of the American West. First trained in Architecture at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where he received the Arch. Departmental Award for his documentation of Ralph Lauren’s former flagship store in the Rhinelander Mansion on Madison Ave in New York, he escaped west to the Sierra Nevada to dirtbag and climb through his early 20’s—naturally he picked up the camera to document the culture he’d immersed himself in. Eventually, that portfolio earned him the prestigious Robert Redford/Milagro Scholarship at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design, where he went on to study Documentary Film Making and Photojournalism.
After spending a few years working in the photo/film space, working with brands such as Coros Global, Gnarly Nutrition, Arc’teryx, Himali, and Moment Skis among others, Rhett pivoted to his lifelong passion of music. That road led him to Montana. Over the past year and a half, his band Radio Ranch has played 100+ shows across ten states, opening for Charley Crockett, Lukas Nelson, Paul Cauthen, Sam Barber, and Chaparelle. This summer will mark their third appearance at Under the Big Sky festival where they will play the Main Stage alongside acts such as Chris Stapleton, Stephen Wilson Jr., and Marcus King among others.
Though music consumes much of his life, he still fills his remaining time with being in the mountains, climbing, skiing, running, and using that to inspire both his music and his art
